The rate people cook burnt food at home this days is alarming. Men used to be the major culprits because some of them whine and complain whenever they are forced to cook. However ,women are also coming up with incidences of burnt food . From my burnt rice experience, this are some of the things to do in-order to avoid burnt food and burnt houses.

Burnt food generally used to be the exclusive preserve of men. This is because most men whine and complain whenever they are forced to cook.Some of them do a lot of other things while cooking and could forget about the food on the stove. This days because of our busy lifestyles ,where everyone is multitasking ,women are also cooking burnt food like no man's business. From my burnt rice experience i realized this things that people should avoid when food is on the stove.
Reading
I used to be guilty of this .I take novels ,magazines and newspapers to the kitchen to impatiently wait for the food to be done.In one of those days an interesting story made me forget the food on the stove and there is no price for guessing what happened .From that day i learnt that the only thing worth reading in the kitchen is recipe book.
Don't be high
Different things ranging from alcohol to money makes people high. Many houses has been set on fire by men and women who cooked when they were high and ended up enjoying the food in their dream. This is worst when the person is lying down on a bed or couch as the food is on the stove.
Log-out of social network
There are many social network and chating sites that could be addictive . This could make one forget what they have on the stove.Young people are the worst culprits in this issue .Some guys would be chatting ,liking and commenting and only the smell of burnt food could bring them back to earth.
Pocket your handset .
Some people take the literary meaning of handset too seriously and are always holding their cellphone on their hands. Cases has been reported in some places where people fried their phone instead of meat. Yes, it is a handset but should be put in the pocket when cooking .
All condiments handy
Some individuals especially those who cook occasionally doesn't have all the condiments they need for cooking handy . It is hilarious when to see some guys cooking .This is worst when the shops are very close to the house. Some of them would leave the food on the stove just to buy some of what they require for cooking . Sometimes by the time they are back the smell of burnt food has permeated the entire house .
The best way to avoid all this is to get a stove with timer so that it could go off at the right time .Alternatively it is good for one to get a recipe books which outlines cooking methods ,ingredients and timing for different foods . This would nip in the bud the increasing rise in the number of burnt food before it turns to burnt houses.
