The kingdom of God is like a man who shared talents to his boys according to their ability . They were to use the talent to increase ,multiply and replenish the earth according to God's injunction in the book of genesis. People who utilized their talents to fulfill this group task would be rewarded with more skills .However, those who were too scared to make use of their talent would submit it to increase the skills haul of those brave ones who maximized their talent. This explains why one person could be good in so many things because most one talent guys has willingly donated it to them.

How I see the Parable of the Talent
In the book of genesis, God gave mankind a standing order ,to increase and multiply in-order to replenish the earth. Increasing and multiplying as he stated was not only an increase in population but also an increase in knowledge. Since it was an injunction ,failure of anyone to contribute their quota towards this group task could incur the wrath of God .In-order to encourage all and sundry to contribute their own quota, he said, as far as heaven and earth exist ,seed time and harvest time will not cease. In-order-words, it would mainly be reward based solely on performance
When Jesus Christ came to earth, he buttressed this point in the parable of the talent .The summary of the parable is that the master shared talents to his boys according to their abilities .One was given five talents and he utilized it effectively and contributed immensely to the group task of increasing and multiplying .At the end he gained an extra five talents. Another of lesser ability who received two talents also maximized his and in the process made a profit of two. However ,the one with the lowest ability ,who received one skill . The guy who supposed to apply his strength considering his apparent disadvantage ,was so scared to make use of his talent. He dug a deep hole and hid his skill and was busy singing this tune " This little light of mine am going to let it shine" . He added no value to life with his odd skill therefore it was assumed that he never lived.He tiptoed through life in-order to arrive safely at his grave.
Not long after, the master arrived and was unusually livid . He ordered him to surrender that skill , rusted or not to the ones who had utilized their own talent . The man with ten talents now has a total skills haul of eleven and counting .It would not need much thinking to decipher what this person could add to the task of replenishing the earth with eleven active skills .
I was reading the biography of one famous man who lived over a century ago . To my greatest surprise ,i realized that this man had a contribution in almost all fields of human endeavor. He was a teacher , poet,dancer ,businessman to mention just but a few . To be candid, the only field that comes to mind that he didn't participate was wrestling . On a closer introspection , i came to the conclusion that he had to do what he did because so many a man with odd talent had it resting in the bowels of the earth. Probably ,they willingly submitted it to people like him. The way i see it ,this is the way the kingdom of God operates . Our ability is a function of our talent which increases according to our performance.
